How do I play?
Pick a mode, then take turns. On your turn, roll the die and your piece hops that many squares around the ring of thirty-two. Land on an empty plot and you can buy it; land on one a rival owns and you pay them rent; pass Start and you collect on the way round. Keep going until one side is out.
What is the difference between the three modes?
Single is you against one computer rival. Two Player is two people sharing one device, passing it back and forth. Battle puts you on the board with three rivals at once, and the last one still holding coins wins.
How do I win?
By outlasting everyone else. When a rival can no longer cover what they owe — even after selling their plots — they drop out. In a two-player game that ends it; in Battle the board keeps going until only one player is left.
I have run low on coins — what now?
Sell some of your plots. On your own turn you can sell any plot you own to raise coins and stay in the game. It is often the difference between dropping out and hanging on for one more lap.
What are the corners and the odd squares?
Start anchors the board — it is where you set off, and you collect a little each time you pass it. Scattered between the corners sit the event squares — Chance, Bank, Bandit and Disaster — that hand you a little something, or take a little away, as you pass.
Can I change my character or the background?
Yes. Tap your picture in the lobby to switch between the ten characters, and open Settings to change the background, toggle sound and music, or switch the language between English and 中文.

The save lives in local storage on your device and nowhere else — we keep no copy and cannot restore it. It is removed when you clear the game’s site data, play in a private/incognito window, let the system reclaim storage, or uninstall the app. If any of those happened, the game simply starts fresh.
I want to start over.
Clear the game’s site data in your browser or device settings, or uninstall and reinstall the app. Either one wipes the single save and nothing else.
Is there anything to buy?
No. The game has no in-app purchases, no subscription and no payment of any kind. Every number in it is earned by playing and cannot be bought or exchanged for anything.
Does it need the internet?
No. Squarehopper makes no network requests. It works with the network switched off, and no information about your play ever leaves your device.
Privacy questions.
The full policy is on the Privacy page. In short: we collect nothing, we receive nothing, and the only stored data is the one local save on your device.
